What a success. Opening night at North Sullivan’s Photo Studio was one of the biggest Glebe community events since they wanted to put an expressway through Glebe. Over 300 people came to celebrate one of Sydney’s largest ever photographic portraiture exhibition of people from Glebe displayed up and around Glebe as part of our 150th year as a suburb celebrations.
A BIG thank you to our sponsors HP, Look Print, Hasselblad, Image Products, De Wintern, YHA Glebe, Glebe Liquor and Broadway Shopping Centre.
And a BIGGER thank you to the photographers, Tom Psomotragos and North Sullivan, for the dedicated hours they put in to get this project happening.
We raised $321.60 for Glebe Youth Services on the night through the sale of beverages.
The Grand Outdoor Gallery – Glebes Outdoor Gallery – 150 Locals has been a resounding success in the community with much positive praise. Col Stokes from Glebe Youth Services said ‘this is the first time in many years that the Glebe Community has all come together at one time’.
The exhibition was up for a 6 week period with photos being displayed on the Peter Forsyth Auditorium walls, Glebe Public School fence, Walter Burley Griffin walkway, residential balconies, and in cafes and bookstores.
